The piece features the characteristically cute and charming dove craftsmanship for which Tozei is known. While the incense burner has a standard form, the fine details—such as the cherry blossoms carved on the sides and the openwork on the lid—reveal his high level of technical skill. In particular, the dove perched atop the lid is adorably crafted, fully showcasing the artist's talent for charming forms.
