p1246
Bizen hanging vase
This is a Bizen hanging vase by Yukio Tomori, who began his path in ceramics in Okinawa and studied under Taisetsu Sueishi in Bizen. This work fully embodies Tomori’s free-spirited and cheerful style. It is a brilliant example of the crossover between tableware, candle holders, and flower vases, achieved precisely because he is a ceramics lover who creates freely and joyfully.
Furthermore, the three-legged design, which works well both placed on a surface and hung, is both unique and well-considered. Despite its highly eye-catching, modern form, it blends gently into any space thanks to the warm, earth-toned texture of the well-fired clay. A charming flower stopper (hanadome) featuring bold cuts and delicate firing is also included.

Paper box
Hanging vase: 14.8 cm (diameter) x 12.9 cm (diameter) x 23.0 cm (height)
Flower stopper: 5.2 cm (diameter) x 5.0 cm (diameter) x 3.6 cm (height)

Yukio Tomori was born on Miyakojima Island, Okinawa Prefecture.
