{"product_id":"p1393","title":"Bizen ware sake cup","description":"We have received new works by Reiji Omori, an artist who approaches Bizen ware with a love for clay and ceramics, and a profound respect for the potters of the past. True to the work of an artist who pours his heart into researching the qualities of clay, this sake cup is fired to a dense, hard finish while still retaining the authentic character of the earth. The surface recreates the lustrous, coated feel of an ancient Bizen storage jar despite its solid, well-fired structure, with hues of \"shiso\" (perilla) red blending into a dry-textured, light brown clay body. The delicate *goma* (ash glaze) sprinkling on the rim and interior is exquisite, making this a piece you will want to use often and watch evolve over time.\n\nWe have received new works by Reiji Omori, an artist who approaches Bizen ware with a love for clay and ceramics, and a profound respect for the potters of the past.
