{"product_id":"p1588","title":"Bizen-hai-kaburi sake cup","description":"This is a new Bizen \"haikaburi\" (ash-covered) sake cup by Yoshinobu Morimoto, an artist with a superb aesthetic sense who is constantly evolving in his approach to clay, firing, and craftsmanship. From the rim to the foot, the piece is fired to a crisp, resonant hardness. The thick, generously applied yellow \"goma\" (sesame glaze) envelops the entire piece like a heavy veil, demonstrating the exquisite charm of returning to the fundamentals of pottery—the act of firing itself. The interior features a highlight of \"toro-toro\" (melted\/smooth) clay, and the simplicity of the form itself allows one to directly enjoy the richness of the colors.\n\nSigned wooden box (shiho-san style)\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 6.5cm × Diameter 6.0cm × Height 6.3cm\n\nYoshinobu Morimoto was born in Okayama Prefecture in 1976.
