{"product_id":"p1782","title":"Colored Bizen ware flower vase","description":"This is a colored Bizen ware flower vase by Anjin Abe, an artist who creates one-of-a-kind works through unique research and firing techniques, backed by a profound insight into ancient pottery and a keen aesthetic sense. Its modern form, constructed on a square base, evokes an even stronger sculptural impression than his previous works. By emphasizing the power of the planes, the matiere of each surface is highlighted; when viewed as a flat surface it resembles a painting, yet it stands as a three-dimensional sculpture, a finish that is truly emblematic of Anjin Abe’s style. The scenery on the front is masterful; just like his previous colored works, it replicates the natural *goma* (sesame seed) glaze with red pigments, creating a highly impressive effect.\n\nOriginal signed box to follow (please allow some time for shipping)\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 14.0cm × Depth 14.4cm × Height 22.2cm\n\nAnjin Abe was originally a Western-style painter. He began collecting pottery as a hobby, but finding contemporary Bizen ware lacking, he started creating his own pottery in 1972 to produce pieces he could be satisfied with. He frequently creates water jars, flower vases, flattened flasks, bowls, sake bottles, and sake cups. All pieces are wheel-thrown and finished with a spatula. He bases his ceramic production on ancient Momoyama-period Bizen ware and is highly particular about his firing process. He also engages in diverse expressive activities, presenting works that combine various materials and techniques such as ceramics, lacquer, oil paint, and bronze (mixed media). He holds solo exhibitions energetically both in Japan and abroad, including in Tokyo, Osaka, New York, and Paris.","brand":"安倍安人","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46618389250145,"sku":"1782","price":750000.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0654\/9916\/8865\/files\/1782.jpg?v=1790235657","url":"https:\/\/tourakuen.myshopify.com\/en\/products\/p1782","provider":"川口陶楽苑","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
