p1884
Bizen sake bottle
This new Bizen sake bottle is by Go Kaneshige, marking a new stage in his career following the completion of his anagama kiln in Kukui. The gentle, sloping shoulders of the piece seem to reflect the artist’s own unassuming and sincere personality, creating a relaxed, natural aesthetic that is soothing to behold. The moist, rich texture of the clay, sourced solely from local rice fields, is punctuated by small pebbles that give it an authentic, earthy feel. A single, plump splash of crimson fire-marking adds a charming accent to the work.

Interview with Go Kaneshige

Signed wooden box to be provided later (please allow some time for shipping).
Rim diameter 2.9cm x body diameter 9.2cm x 9.2cm x height 12.5cm, capacity approx. 360ml

Go Kaneshige was born the second son of the Intangible Cultural Property holder Michiaki Kaneshige and is the grandson of the great Living National Treasure, Toyo Kaneshige.
