{"product_id":"p1963","title":"Bizen Sake Cup","description":"This Bizen sake cup is the work of Makoto Nakamura, a renowned artisan of sake vessels and tableware, and the eldest son of the late Rokuro Nakamura, a master of Bizen ware. The piece displays a magnificent scarlet hue and *kase-goma* (dry, crusty sesame-like ash glaze) that is instantly recognizable as Nakamura Bizen. The appearance is reminiscent of a fruit peeled halfway: one side is a striking, unforgettable scarlet, while the other features the refined, earthy texture of *kase-goma* that resembles tree bark. The potter's wheel marks, created through slow, rhythmic shaping, are clearly defined, providing both a comfortable grip and an intriguing visual texture.\n\nSigned wooden box (shiho-san style)\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 7.8cm x Diameter 7.6cm x Height 5.2cm\n\nBorn as the eldest son of Rokuro Nakamura, Makoto Nakamura began learning the fundamentals and honing his skills under his father in 1971.
