p2013
Hidasuki tea cup
This is a Hidasuki yunomi (tea cup) by the popular young artist Yoshiteru Koriki, a former apprentice to the master Sozan Kaneshige. The mugusa-colored clay, inherited from Master Sozan and containing fine iron particles, is beautifully complemented by the elegant Hidasuki fire-cord markings. Its plump, adorable form provides a gentle and warm feel in the hand, making it a piece that evokes a sense of comfort. Master Koriki's application of the Hidasuki technique is exquisite, creating a highly expressive and intriguing effect with thick, powerful lines, thin, ephemeral strokes, and soft, spreading patterns on the surface of the vessel. It pairs well with tea coasters, making it a handy piece to have for guests.

Paper box
Diameter 7.7cm × Diameter 7.7cm × Height 6.9cm

About gift wrapping

Yoshiteru Koriki was born in Ako City, Hyogo Prefecture.
