p2226
Bizen teapot
This is a Bizen tea pot by the renowned master artisan, Hannyukyo Manabe, a name known to those in the know. The work is defined by its charming, soft hue, where the gentle quality of the clay and the white-speckled sesame ash glaze create a crisp, clean impression. Combined with the bold, dark-grey sangiri (kiln-altered) markings, the result is a deeply tasteful and intriguing aesthetic that will appeal to the true connoisseur. Furthermore, the artist's signature unadorned style leaves a lasting impression, evoking the simple, rustic spirit of a stubborn craftsman.
*Please note that this item does not come with a booklet (shiori).

Original wooden box (shiho-zan) included
Diameter 9.3cm x Diameter 8.7cm x Height 7.9cm

Hannyukyo Manabe was born in Takamatsu, Kagawa Prefecture.
