p2275
Rock Cup
This is a Bizen tea cup by Yukio Tomori, who began his career in ceramics in Okinawa and studied under Taisetsu Sueishi in Bizen. He seeks to capture the "most beautiful moment" in the ever-changing form of the clay on the potter's wheel, creating a style that feels as though the dynamic, living clay has been fired just as it was. Its lively form creates a powerful flow of earth, leaving a mysterious impression as if one is being drawn into a whirlpool of soil. When filled with sake, it looks as though the liquid is being held in a vessel; by slowly rotating it in harmony with the flow of the clay, I believe you will be able to savor the very time spent enjoying your drink.

"Yukio Tomori Special Feature"

No box
Diameter 11.3cm x Diameter 10.6cm x Height 8.1cm

Yukio Tomori was born on Miyako Island, Okinawa.
