p2413
Kuro-Bizen Sake Cup
This is a new black Bizen sake cup by Takashi Baba, an artist born in Inbe who has loved Bizen ware since childhood and finds his life's joy in creating works and firing kilns. This innovative piece was carved from a large block of clay using a spatula to form the shape of a sake cup. The chic black finish complements the dramatic form perfectly, and the intensive kiln firing has given the black surface a smooth texture and deep luster. The generous application of yellow sesame glaze (kama-goma) has resulted in the kiln-changed cobalt blue highlights on the edges created by the carving process.

"Takashi Baba Feature"

Signed wooden box to be provided later (please allow some time for delivery)
Diameter 7.0cm x 6.9cm x Height 6.0cm

Takashi Baba was born in 1983 as the eldest son of Bizen ware artist Shosuke Baba.
