{"product_id":"p2453","title":"Ibe Yunomi","description":"This is an Ibe teacup by Tomio Ochi, an artist who diligently devoted himself to kiln firing under the tutelage of Yasuhito Abe and pours his unquenchable passion into his ceramics. Hand-coiled and slowly built up, the piece has a profound sense of weight when held, making it feel as though the clay itself is densely condensed. This is further emphasized by the generous coating of yellow goma (ash glaze) and the moist-looking texture of the Ibe style. The yellow goma features crackles that will become more prominent with use, allowing the piece to gain a presence reminiscent of ancient pottery.\n\nSigned wooden box to follow (please allow some time for shipping).\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 8.0cm x 7.9cm x Height 10.0cm\n\nTomio Ochi graduated from Ehime Prefectural Niihama Technical High School in 1949.
