p2467
Lozenge-shaped flower-rimmed dish
This diamond-shaped, flower-rimmed dish is the work of Kazuhiro Mori, who follows in the footsteps of his father, a man who has dedicated his life to large-kiln firing. Inspired by his father’s work, Mori himself dreams of recreating the powerful beauty of ancient Bizen pottery through this traditional firing technique. The diamond-shaped bowl has been meticulously hollowed out to create a floral design. The central section is shaded to provide contrast with the petals, while also successfully emphasizing the beautiful, lightning-like red *hidasuki* (fire-cord) markings. By combining the diamond shape with the floral motif, Mori has crafted a fresh design with a geometric aesthetic—a piece that is neither a simple leaf dish nor a standard square plate.

No box
Diameter 28.5cm x 24.0cm x Height 3.5cm

About the "Kazuhiro Mori Special Feature"

Kazuhiro Mori was born the eldest son of Togaku Mori.
