p2473
Flower-shaped bowl
This is a petal-shaped bowl by Kazuhiro Mori, who follows in the footsteps of his father, a man who has dedicated his life to large-kiln firing. Inspired by his father's work, Mori himself aspires to recreate the powerful beauty of ancient Bizen ware through the same large-kiln firing technique. This piece reverses the traditional rules of *hidasuki* (fire-cord) scenery: instead of the *hidasuki* taking center stage, the translucent whiteness of the Samukaze clay plays the lead role, complemented by the *hidasuki* and fine-grained *goma* (ash glaze). This reversal, possible only due to the unique properties of Samukaze clay, is supported by Mori's primitive style, which intentionally leaves no trace of the "human hand." While created as a bowl, its size is also perfect for use as a free cup.

No box
Diameter 11.1cm x 10.1cm x Height 8.5cm

About the "Kazuhiro Mori Special Feature"

Kazuhiro Mori was born as the eldest son of Togaku Mori.
