{"product_id":"p2527","title":"Bizen-yaki hōhin","description":"This is a blue Bizen *hōhin* (teapot) by Rakuzan Fujiwara II, who was born as the third son of the master craftsman Rakuzan Fujiwara I and created many masterpieces. The artist used levigated clay, purified to remove impurities and small stones, shaped it on a potter's wheel, and polished the piece extensively, aiming for a texture that, while being Bizen ware, resembles porcelain. The blue-gray surface is as smooth as if it were coated in glass, and combined with the polishing, it reveals a complexion that is both beautiful and refined. The spout is designed so that droplets spill out when poured, and the surface promises interesting changes as it absorbs liquid over time.
