{"product_id":"p2593","title":"Bizen sake cup","description":"This is a Bizen sake cup by Living National Treasure Jun Isezaki, who continues to lead the world of Bizen ware with an inexhaustible creative force. The firing has created a stunning fusion of *hidasuki* (fire-cord) markings and *goma* (ash glaze), which can only be achieved in an anagama kiln. The scattered *goma* dance across the surface, seemingly following the dynamic *hidasuki* patterns, with the ash having flown in various directions across different sections of the piece. The use of a slightly coarse clay results in a light-colored body with a dry texture that beautifully complements the visible stone granules.\n\nSigned wooden box (shiho-san) included\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 6.8cm × Diameter 6.7cm × Height 6.5cm\n\nJun Isezaki was born the second son of Yozan Isezaki, a master of ceramic craft. He learned pottery from a young age and began his professional career after graduating from the Special Art Course at Okayama University in 1959. His body of work is vast, spanning traditional pieces such as vases, plates, and tea ceremony utensils, to sculptural and conceptual objects. In his creative process, he emphasizes both the shaping and the firing. His style, overflowing with a contemporary sensibility, makes the most of the characteristics of his materials and kilns (anagama, climbing, and electric kilns). Furthermore, he is a leading figure in relief art and has released numerous works in this field. He became a full member of the Japan Kōgei Association in 1966, and served as a special lecturer in fine arts at Okayama University for nine years starting in 1978. In 1998, he and his brother, Mitsuru Isezaki, were both designated as Okayama Prefecture Important Intangible Cultural Property holders, and in the same year, he began serving as the Secretary General of the Chugoku branch of the Japan Kōgei Association. In July 2004, he was designated as a Living National Treasure (Holder of Important Intangible Cultural Property). Awards include the Kaneshige Toyo Award, the Okayama Prefectural Cultural Encouragement Award, the Sanyo Shimbun Award, and the Excellence Award at the Tea Ceremony Form Exhibition, among many others. He also serves as a judge for prefectural exhibitions.","brand":"伊勢崎 淳","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46618472022113,"sku":"2593","price":60000.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0654\/9916\/8865\/files\/2593.jpg?v=1790236604","url":"https:\/\/tourakuen.myshopify.com\/en\/products\/p2593","provider":"川口陶楽苑","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
