{"product_id":"p2674","title":"Black Bizen sake cup","description":"This is a Kuro-Bizen sake cup by Sho Fujita, an artist who masters diverse forms of art and fuses them into a singular mode of expression. By skillfully utilizing the drying process of the clay, the artist has created a texture on the surface that resembles a world map. Using a special clay that fires into a deep black without the need for slip, the surface is fired to contrast matte areas that seem to absorb light with areas that emit a faint, subtle glow. The meticulously calculated placement of the *goma* (ash glaze) is magnificent; it enhances the fine, matte texture—deepening it into a surface reminiscent of *kuro-raku* ware—without being so heavy as to obscure the intricate surface cracks. Although slightly thick, the piece allows one to fully appreciate the fine-grained texture of the clay, offering a tactile pleasure that delights the fingertips.\n\nSigned wooden box to follow (please allow some time for shipping)\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 7.1cm × Diameter 7.0cm × Height 5.9cm\n\nSho Fujita was born in Wakayama City, Wakayama Prefecture in 1978.
