{"product_id":"p2676","title":"Bizen Beer Drinker","description":"This is a Bizen beer cup by Rokuro Nakamura, a traditional craftsman whom Bizen prides itself on, and who was hailed as a god of sake ware making. The bright brown clay texture, tinged faintly with purple, seems to testify to the quality of the clay itself. Matching this clay texture, which appears like melting chocolate, is a rich, well-fired yellow sesame glaze (kama-goma). It flares slightly toward the top, with the understated yet beautiful curves characteristic of a skilled master, achieving both ease of handling and an elegant appearance.\n\nSigned wooden box (shiho-san) \u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 8.0cm x Diameter 7.6cm x Height 9.9cm\n\nRokuro Nakamura worked for a company until the end of the war, then apprenticed under Living National Treasure Toyo Kaneshige in 1945 to hone his skills, before establishing his own Rokuro Kiln in 1961. He favored creating sake wares such as sake bottles on the potter's wheel. Using the slab-building (tatara) technique, he also produced bubble pots (awabine), teapots, and tea bowls. Known for his simple, rustic, and wild style, he placed great importance on the firing process of his unglazed pottery, pouring his efforts into kiln packing, which determines the quality of the work. He was named a traditional craftsman in 1986, the same year he received the Okayama Nichinichi Shimbun Award, and in 1989, he was awarded the Seventh Class Order of the Blue Paulownia Leaves in the spring decorations. He passed away in April 2004.","brand":"中村六郎","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46618485817441,"sku":"2676","price":25000.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0654\/9916\/8865\/files\/2676.jpg?v=1790236726","url":"https:\/\/tourakuen.myshopify.com\/en\/products\/p2676","provider":"川口陶楽苑","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
