{"product_id":"p2723","title":"Bizen Sake Cup","description":"This is a Bizen sake cup by Rokuro Nakamura, a master craftsman of traditional Bizen ware celebrated as the \"God of Sake Ware.\" This piece dates from before his later years and features a deeply fired, substantial Shiso-colored clay texture with a commanding presence. It shows early signs of his signature undulating rim, resulting in a design that is thick yet powerfully curved like a dragon. The sturdy form pairs perfectly with the wide foot, which has a coarser texture than the body, providing a delightful tactile experience when held.\n\nSigned wooden box (shiho-san)\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 7.8cm × Diameter 7.7cm × Height 6.0cm\n\nRokuro Nakamura worked as a company employee until the end of the war, after which he studied under Living National Treasure Toyo Kaneshige in 1945 to hone his skills, eventually establishing the Rokuro Kiln in 1961. He preferred creating sake vessels such as tokkuri on the potter's wheel, while also crafting houbin (teapots), kyusu, and tea bowls using the slab-building technique. His style was simple, rustic, and full of vitality; as a practitioner of unglazed stoneware, he valued the firing process immensely and devoted great effort to kiln loading, which determines the quality of the work. He was certified as a Traditional Craftsman in 1986, received the Okayama Nichinichi Shimbun Award that same year, and was awarded the Seventh Class Order of the Blue Paulownia Leaves in the spring of 1989. He passed away in April 2004.","brand":"中村六郎","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46618493419617,"sku":"2723","price":60000.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0654\/9916\/8865\/files\/2723.jpg?v=1790236797","url":"https:\/\/tourakuen.myshopify.com\/en\/products\/p2723","provider":"川口陶楽苑","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
