{"product_id":"p2819","title":"Bizen Hidasuki sake cup","description":"This Bizen Hidasuki guinomi (sake cup) is the work of Juro Harada, a prodigy described as \"frighteningly talented\" by Matasaburo Katsura, the great contributor to Bizen ware, with whom he studied old Bizen. The piece features a lovely, egg-like spherical shape paired with a mellow, well-fired hidasuki (fire-cord) pattern. The hidasuki landscape changes significantly from the outside to the inside: the outside features crisp, clear straw lines, while the inside is evenly dyed in scarlet with a white-rimmed center (mikomi). Traces of melted straw that have taken on a glaze-like appearance can be found on the rim, making this a work that is both elegantly fired and remarkably lively.\n\nSigned wooden box (shiho-san)\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 7.8cm × Diameter 7.6cm × Height 6.7cm\n\nAfter graduating from Meiji University and working in a company, Juro Harada began making pottery in 1969. In 1971, he built an ana-gama (tunnel kiln) and a climbing kiln the following year, devoting himself fully to the ceramic arts. From 1975, under the guidance of old Bizen researcher Matasaburo Katsura, he visited old kiln sites to study ancient Bizen. In 1991, he built an ana-gama on Mt. Amida in Ushimado. He creates jars, tea ceremony utensils, and leaf-shaped plates, using the coiling method as well as the potter's wheel. He has held active solo exhibitions in Tokyo, Osaka, and elsewhere. In 1983, he held a joint exhibition with Kenji Funaki of Fushina ware at the National Museum of Ethnology in Australia. He received the Japan Ceramic Society Award in 2000. In 2002, his works were exhibited and acquired for the opening commemorative exhibition of the Museum of Modern Ceramic Art, Gifu. In 2005, his works were acquired by the New Orleans Museum of Art in the United States.","brand":"原田拾六","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46618503315553,"sku":"2819","price":50000.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0654\/9916\/8865\/files\/2819.jpg?v=1790236900","url":"https:\/\/tourakuen.myshopify.com\/en\/products\/p2819","provider":"川口陶楽苑","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
