p2912
Bizen sake bottle
This sake bottle is the work of Shusaku Taku, an artist who takes the everyday inspirations of life as his yeast, shaping Bizen ware that has matured alongside the continuous activities of people over generations. Crafted using the coil method, the form features a subtly shifted center point, resulting in a highly three-dimensional and character-filled silhouette. While the impression of a sake bottle can change drastically depending on how it rises, this Taku sake bottle, despite containing a wide variety of movements, extends straight upward as a whole, making for a straightforward and easy-to-use piece. While finished with an *Ibe-de* texture, the surface of this bottle is veiled in *goma* (ash glaze), with the black of the *Ibe-de* peeking out from the gaps in the thick yellow *goma* glaze.

Interview with Shusaku Taku

Signed wooden box to be provided later (please allow some time for delivery)
Rim diameter 3.4cm x body diameter 9.3cm x 9.2cm x height 13.9cm, capacity approx. 400CC

Shusaku Taku was born in 1980 as the eldest son of Mamoru Taku.
