p2992
Bizen sake bottle
This sake bottle is the work of Shusaku Taku, an artist who shapes his pieces by fermenting the emotions of daily life, drawing inspiration from Bizen ware that has matured alongside the continuous activities of people throughout history. The form, created using the coil-building technique with a subtly shifted center point, has a highly three-dimensional and characterful silhouette. While the impression of a sake bottle can change drastically depending on the way it rises, the Taku-style bottle, despite containing a diverse range of movements, extends straight upward as a whole, resulting in a straightforward and easy-to-use vessel. The scenery, which is reminiscent of his father Mamoru, is magnificent, featuring a deep Ibe-style black finish complemented by stunning, high-density yellow sesame (kama) glazes at the edges.

Shusaku Taku Interview

Signed wooden box to be provided at a later date (please allow some time for shipping).
Rim diameter 4.0cm x Body diameter 9.5cm x 9.5cm x Height 14.1cm

Shusaku Taku was born in 1980 as the eldest son of Mamoru Taku.
