{"product_id":"p3165","title":"Bizen Hidasuki Polka-dot Tea Bowl","description":"This is a new Bizen \"hidatsuki\" (fire-cord) polka-dot tea bowl by Yoshiteru Koriki, a popular young artist and apprentice to the master Sozan Kaneshige. It is a lovely polka-dot tea bowl that anticipates the autumn season, evoking the image of fireflies dancing over a field of Japanese pampas grass. By taking a very long time to gradually increase the temperature of the electric kiln, a deep \"hidatsuki\" pattern with a very moist texture has been created. Although it has a somewhat substantial weight, it is crafted with a relaxed feel, making it a piece suitable for both beginners and collectors alike.\n\nSigned wooden box (shiho-san style)\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 12.3cm x Diameter 11.8cm x Height 8.7cm\n\nYoshiteru Koriki was born in Ako City, Hyogo Prefecture. Aspiring to a career in ceramics under the influence of his pottery-loving father, he began studying the craft under the master Sozan Kaneshige and his son Yuho after graduating from high school in 1989. After seven years of training, he established his own climbing kiln in Shizutani, Bizen City in 1996, and successfully fired his first kiln the following year.
