{"product_id":"p3183","title":"Ibe Shuten","description":"This is an Ibe sake cup by Tomio Ochi, who diligently focuses on kiln firing under the tutelage of Yasuhito Abe, pouring his still-unsatisfied aspirations into his pottery. The piece was slowly formed by hand, and upon picking it up, one feels a sense of profound weight, as if the clay itself has been condensed to a high density. The surface, with a hue reminiscent of the lacquered lecture hall at the Shizutani School, appears as if it were excavated after a long passage of time, despite being a new work. Inside the foot, the artist has avoided applying slip, revealing a reddish clay texture alongside the pottery seal.\n\nSigned wooden box to be provided at a later date (please allow some time for shipping)\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 7.3cm x Diameter 7.2cm x Height 5.2cm\n\nTomio Ochi graduated from Ehime Prefectural Niihama Industrial High School in 1949.
