{"product_id":"p3215","title":"Bizen ware flower vase","description":"This Bizen sake cup is the work of Living National Treasure Yu Fujiwara, who broadened the horizons of Bizen ware not only within Japan but across the globe. It is a masterpiece that beautifully displays the characteristics of \"Yu-Bizen,\" featuring fine, moss-green *kase-goma* (dull, matte ash glaze). The unique, pestle-like form is intriguing, and the fact that roughly 80 percent of the piece is covered in *kase-goma* makes it look as though it were an ancient excavated artifact. One can enjoy the dynamic worldview of Fujiwara through details such as the \"ears\" that look as if they were plastered on with lumps of clay. (Please note in advance: there is a crack in the clay at the attachment point of the ears.)\n\nSigned wooden box (with *shihosan* cross-bracing)\u003cbr\u003e\nDimensions including ears: 10.9cm (W) x 9.1cm (D) x 24.6cm (H)\n\nYu Fujiwara (1932–2001, born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture) was the eldest son of Living National Treasure Kei Fujiwara.
