{"product_id":"p3296","title":"Bizen Hidasuki sake cup","description":"This is a Bizen hidasuki sake cup by the visionary artist Juroku Harada, a prodigy who was told he had \"frightening potential\" while studying ancient Bizen under the guidance of the great Bizen scholar Matazaburo Katsura. Based on a soft, mugwort-colored white clay, the deep hidasuki markings—which appear as if they have permeated to the very depths of the clay body—suit it perfectly. While the solid, substantial coil-built form, which gives the impression of densely condensed clay, immediately catches the eye, it maintains a comfortable weight that is not overly heavy, making it a delight to use as a vessel for robust, masculine sake drinking. The daring attached base, made by applying a coil of clay, possesses an indescribable refinement; it is a dandy work characteristic of a seasoned master, balancing powerful boldness with an elegant depth of character.\n\nOriginal wooden box (shiho-san)\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 7.3cm x Diameter 6.6cm x Height 5.9cm\n\nJuroku Harada began his pottery career in 1969 after working for a company following his graduation from Meiji University.
