{"product_id":"p3360","title":"Shigaraki Sake Cup","description":"This is a new sake cup by Tomio Ochi, an artist who diligently dedicated himself to firing kilns under the guidance of the late Anjin Abe and continues to pour his insatiable passion into his ceramics. This sake cup represents a new challenge for Ochi in Shigaraki ware; it is crafted using clay that he once collected in Shigaraki alongside Abe, and, much like his Bizen works, it has been subjected to multiple firings. The bright, flame-kissed earthiness characteristic of Shigaraki is complemented by a smooth natural glaze. The piece is striking for its dynamic foot, a hallmark of Ochi’s sculptural approach.\n\nSigned wooden box to be provided later (please allow some time for shipping).\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 7.9cm × 7.8cm × Height 4.4cm\n\nTomio Ochi graduated from Niihama Technical High School in Ehime Prefecture in 1949.
