{"product_id":"p3379","title":"Bizen Handcrafted Sangiri Hohin","description":"This is a handmade Bizen \"Sangiri\" (kiln-altered) teapot by the late Yozan Isezaki, who was born in Imbe, left behind numerous masterpieces of ceramic crafts and figures, and was designated a holder of an Intangible Cultural Property by Okayama Prefecture. Living up to its name, this \"Sangiri teapot\" features a sophisticated aesthetic with a prominent gray ash-covered surface and kiln-altered coloring, a style that was popular during this period. The single splash of yellow \"goma\" (sesame seed glaze) stands out beautifully against the gray backdrop. The craftsmanship of the rim and the elegant shape of the thinly spread base are a testament to the high level of skill of Yozan, a master of ceramic craft. (Please note that this is a pre-owned item with some signs of use.)\n\nOriginal signed wooden box (with two-way crossbar) \u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 9.0cm × Diameter 8.0cm × Height 6.5cm\n\nYozan Isezaki was born in Imbe in 1902. Although he initially aspired to be a Japanese-style painter, family circumstances led him to master traditional spatula techniques at the Korakuen kiln. He studied pottery techniques under Yusen Tajima at a young age and established his own kiln in 1933. Skilled in ceramic craft, he created many masterpieces of ceramic figures and ornaments, including large-scale statues such as those of Shinsaku Takasugi, Hiromushi Wake, and Kiyomaro Wake in Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture. In his later years, he also worked on the potter's wheel. He restored ancient kilns in the Koya Mountains and was designated a holder of a Prefectural Important Intangible Cultural Property. He passed away in 1961 at the age of 60.","brand":"伊勢崎陽山","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46618535559265,"sku":"3379","price":70000.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0654\/9916\/8865\/files\/3379.jpg?v=1790237719","url":"https:\/\/tourakuen.myshopify.com\/en\/products\/p3379","provider":"川口陶楽苑","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
