{"product_id":"p3446","title":"Bizen square plate","description":"This is a Bizen ware sake cup by Living National Treasure Yu Fujiwara, who expanded his horizons beyond Japan to share the appeal of Bizen ware with the world. It features a vibrant, yellow sesame glaze—a hallmark of his dry-textured style—covering the entire surface. While it is a simple piece with a minimalist design, the way the edges are raised and the overall balance reflect the work of a master who, having been mentored by Rosanjin, prioritized functionality. As seen in the catalog published by the artist and his wife, this square dish is remarkably versatile, suitable for everything from brightly colored items like crab, strawberries, and muscat grapes, to dishes with similar hues such as simmered fish.\n\nOriginal signed box (shiho-zan)\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 27.7cm x Diameter 27.2cm x Height 5.0cm\n\nYu Fujiwara (1932–2001, born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture) was the eldest son of Living National Treasure Kei Fujiwara.
