p3543
Bizen Sake Cup
This Bizen sake cup is the work of Shusaku Taku, an artist who shapes his pieces by fermenting the emotions of daily life, drawing inspiration from the Bizen ware tradition that has matured alongside the continuous activities of people throughout history. The delicate unevenness and flow of the clay, achieved through the coil-building technique, give the piece a powerful sense of movement. Holding it in your hand, it feels as if it were a natural extension of your palm, creating the sensation of grasping raw clay. While this piece has been lightly coated with slip, it does not have a blackening effect; rather, its appeal lies in the crisp, refreshing character of the rare white clay. The golden-brown toasted white clay transitions into a bright caramel-brown, creating a clean and refreshing aesthetic that pairs perfectly with the scorched sesame ash.

View Shusaku Taku's blog post

Signed paulownia box to be provided later (please allow some time for shipping).
Diameter 7.2cm x Diameter 6.8cm x Height 5.3cm

Shusaku Taku was born in 1980 as the eldest son of Mamoru Taku.
