{"product_id":"p3937","title":"Bizen sake cup","description":"This is a Bizen sake cup by Kei Fujiwara, a man loved by all for a warm artistic style that radiated both boldness and kindness. The large-scale form from his later years is incredibly powerful and can be called the true essence of Fujiwara Bizen. The orange-toned clay, likely influenced by the mountain soil, evokes the atmosphere of Tanegashima or Nanban unglazed ware, and this unaffected, simple rustic quality matches the form perfectly. Furthermore, the orange clay has a charming allure when in use; combined with the ease of use afforded by its simple form, it is the kind of piece you might find yourself reaching for most often when thinking about which cup to use casually.\n\nSigned wooden box by Keisuke (shiho-zan lid)\nDiameter 6.9cm x Diameter 6.7cm x Height 6.5cm\n\nKei Fujiwara (1899–1983, born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture) entered the world of Bizen ware at the suggestion of Atsuo Masamune, a scholar of Japanese literature living in Honami, Bizen. He received instruction in wheel-throwing and other techniques from Baikai Mimura, and from 1941, he honed his pottery skills by learning firing methods from fellow Living National Treasure Toyo Kaneshige. Emulating the simplicity and boldness found in the utilitarian wares of the Kamakura and Muromachi periods, he created vases and flower vessels with a generous and clear style. The appreciation for art he absorbed in his youth influenced his work. In 1954, he became the second Living National Treasure for Bizen ware, and in 1958, he became a director of the Japan Kōgei Association. In 1977, he established the Kei Fujiwara Memorial Museum in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture.\u003cbr\u003e\nMajor awards: Okayama Prefecture Cultural Award, Sanyo Shimbun Award, Chugoku Cultural Award; Honorary Citizen of Bizen City, Honorary Citizen of Okayama Prefecture; posthumously awarded the Junior Fifth Rank and the Order of the Sacred Treasure, Third Class.","brand":"藤原 啓","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46618557415521,"sku":"3937","price":80000.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0654\/9916\/8865\/files\/3937.jpg?v=1790238424","url":"https:\/\/tourakuen.myshopify.com\/en\/products\/p3937","provider":"川口陶楽苑","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
