{"product_id":"p4017","title":"Bizen ware flattened sake flask","description":"This is a Bizen flattened sake flask by Living National Treasure Toshu Yamamoto, a master who created numerous masterpieces with peerless, god-like technical skill. Known as a master of the potter's wheel who reached the pinnacle of \"orderly\" symmetry, this work represents the \"extraordinary\" forms that Toshu dared to challenge. Just as in calligraphy, a master who understands correct form can break it to achieve a unique aesthetic; here, the flattened sides widen toward the base, achieving both a sense of breadth and ease of handling. Each side reveals a profound charm: one side features the golden-green \"goma\" glaze instantly recognizable as Yamamoto Bizen, while the other displays an earthy texture with fiery scarlet accents emerging from the natural black.\n\nOriginal signed wooden box (shiho-zan style)\u003cbr\u003e\nRim 3.7cm × Body 10.4cm × Body 9.3cm × Height 12.8cm; Capacity approx. 380cc\n\nToshu Yamamoto (1906–1994, born in Inbe, Bizen City) entered the world of ceramics in 1921 and established his own kiln in 1933.
