{"product_id":"p4080","title":"Bizen Yohen Sake Cup","description":"This is a new Bizen sake cup by popular young artist Yoshiteru Koriki, an apprentice of the master Sozan Kaneshige. This latest piece, fired in the spring of 2016, features a superb finish resulting from a highly successful kiln firing. Exposed to intense heat, the piece was fired with such vigor that ash from the firing penetrated the fire-resistant clay applied to protect the scarlet areas. The cup showcases a landscape of \"kase-yohen\" (matte kiln-transformation)—a blend of ash-covered kiln effects and matte sesame glaze—creating an intriguing contrast between the subtle, ethereal scarlet hues and the bold, ash-dusted scenery.
