{"product_id":"p4175","title":"Bizen Sake Cup","description":"This is a Bizen sake cup by the popular young artist Yoshiteru Kouriki, a former apprentice to the master Sozan Kaneshige. It is a sake cup with a highly distinct aesthetic, featuring a dark green, crusty surface accented with gold, punctuated by vivid scarlet hues. The surface, which is even deeper and darker than Kouriki’s typical crusty finish, bears an antique quality akin to the bark of a withered tree, making it look as if it were over 100 years old, despite being a new work. Into this, a striking scarlet color suddenly interjects, evoking the stirrings of vitality and creating a contrast that could be called a microcosm of the beginning and end of life. In the interior, as if a new sprout were emerging from the roots of a decayed giant tree, the scarlet hue seems to be birthing itself from within the black, crusty surface.\n\nSigned wooden box (shihozan) included\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 6.8cm × Diameter 6.6cm × Height 5.8cm\n\nYoshiteru Kouriki was born in Ako City, Hyogo Prefecture.
