{"product_id":"p4260","title":"Nerikomi Pedestal Plate, Black","description":"This is a new *nerikomi* (marbled clay) pedestal dish by Koji Nakahara, who studied under Fumio Kawabata and aims to create works that suit modern life. The dish is characterized by a surface resembling black marble, achieved by mixing and firing several types of mountain clay. The base of the dish does not have a marbled pattern; this is because the artist first lays down a base of blended clay, then coils tube-shaped marbled clay on top before scraping it down with a spatula to reveal the marble design. As a result, the marble pattern has an interesting, swirling regularity.\n\nPaper box\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 14.0cm x 14.0cm x Height 1.5cm\n\nKoji Nakahara was born in Osaka Prefecture in 1978.
