{"product_id":"p4404","title":"Bizen Sake Cup","description":"This is a Bizen sake cup by Living National Treasure Toshu Yamamoto, an artist renowned for his unparalleled, god-like mastery and the creation of numerous masterpieces. This sake cup bears the potter's mark from the later years of his life, after he had been designated a Living National Treasure, following a career that began as a humble craftsman through a time of great upheaval. The exceptionally refined, symmetrical form—a testament to a master who spent his entire life facing the potter's wheel—is a pleasure to behold. The gold accents, another hallmark of Toshu’s work, are clearly visible, while the deep, lustrous shiso-red and orange hues on the clay surface of the interior and front add immense depth and character. Despite dating from his later years, the impressively large, bold form exudes a vibrant and energetic spirit that is truly refreshing to look at.\n\nOriginal signed wooden box (shiho-zan) included\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 7.3cm x Diameter 7.0cm x Height 5.7cm\n\nToshu Yamamoto (1906–1994, born in Imbe, Bizen City) entered the world of pottery in 1921 and established his own kiln in 1933.
