{"product_id":"p4436","title":"Gold and Platinum Glazed Pouring Vessel \"Salamander\" by Teru","description":"This is the latest work, \"Salamander - Radiance,\" a freshly kiln-fired sake server (katakuchi) by Toru Ichikawa, who studied under Ryuichi Kakurezaki and made a sensational debut. It is a highly original and exceptional piece, characteristic of Ichikawa-sensei, who brings his endlessly overflowing ideas to life through clay, the supreme medium. Evolving the intense, bubbling glaze texture of the \"Kagutsuchi\" series, this new \"Salamander\" series features a tiled composition of gold leaf, platinum leaf, and crimson glaze. By changing the title from \"Kagutsuchi\"—the fire god of Japanese mythology—to the elemental \"Salamander,\" the series has become even more vibrant and daring. In contrast to the molten gold of the Kagutsuchi series, this piece centers on a flame-colored crimson glaze, with the complex interplay of gold, platinum, and red creating a painterly aesthetic. The fine grains within the molten gold have been randomly replaced with platinum in several areas, a testament to Ichikawa-sensei's meticulous attention to detail. Although it is a three-legged katakuchi, the sculptural form is unlike anything seen before; combined with the geometric, tiled glaze expression, this may well be the most avant-garde sake server in history. (There is a fissure on the inner base, but it does not leak water.)\n\nDiameter 13.5cm × Diameter 12.6cm × Height 12.1cm\u003cbr\u003e\nSigned wooden box to be provided later (please allow some time for shipping)\n\nToru Ichikawa was born in Tokyo.
