{"product_id":"p4480","title":"Bizen Parthenon Sake Cup","description":"This is a Bizen Parthenon sake cup by Living National Treasure Yu Fujiwara, who expanded his vision beyond Japan to share the appeal of Bizen ware with the world. This piece was created by Fujiwara-sensei in his youth and, as the name suggests, was fired using soil from the Parthenon temple with a *hidasuki* (fire-cord) technique. The spots caused by the eruption of iron from the clay—a hallmark of the Parthenon works—offer a distinct contrast to the Bizen clay we are accustomed to, inevitably evoking thoughts of the distant Parthenon in Greece. The form also incorporates Western elements, reminiscent of a wine glass or goblet. While it includes a ceramic history document from 1965, suggesting it was likely produced around that time, there are no noticeable stains or other issues.\n\nOriginal signed wooden box (with two-sided slats)\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 5.9cm × Diameter 5.7cm × Height 7.0cm\n\nYu Fujiwara (1932–2001, born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture) was the eldest son of Living National Treasure Kei Fujiwara.
