{"product_id":"p4529","title":"Ibe Shuten","description":"This is a new Ibe sake cup by Yasuhito Abe, an artist who possesses deep insight and an aesthetic sensibility for antique pottery, and who creates one-of-a-kind works through his original research and firing techniques. A continuation of the Ibe-de pieces he produced for the first time in a while around last autumn, this sake cup combines a tea bowl-style form with the refined texture of Ibe-de. While the Ibe-de technique typically achieves its deep-hued surface through the application of a different type of clay as a slip, Master Abe's superior firing technique further enhances the natural colors of the Ibe-de itself, resulting in a magnificent, highly complex surface reminiscent of reddish-brown leather or the dark brown of aged ironware. His reliable firing technique, based on years of research into old Bizen and antique ceramics, is also evident in the *goma* (sesame seed ash glaze), where the thick, luscious yellow *goma* possesses a richness so profound it could be mistaken for antique Bizen.\n\nSigned wooden box to follow (please allow some time for delivery)\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 6.6cm x Diameter 6.3cm x Height 4.3cm\n\nYasuhito Abe was originally a Western-style painter. While collecting ceramics as a hobby, he felt a lack of satisfaction with contemporary Bizen ware and began his pottery career in 1972 to create pieces that he could find truly convincing. He frequently creates water jars, flower vases, flattened jars, bowls, sake bottles, and sake cups. Every piece is wheel-thrown and finished with a spatula. His work is rooted in Momoyama-period antique Bizen, with a particular emphasis on his firing process. He also engages in a diverse range of creative activities, exhibiting works (mixed media) that combine various materials and techniques such as ceramics, lacquer, oil painting, and bronze. He holds solo exhibitions energetically both in Japan and abroad, including in Tokyo, Osaka, New York, and Paris.","brand":"安倍安人","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46618630455393,"sku":"4529","price":100000.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0654\/9916\/8865\/files\/4529.jpg?v=1790239181","url":"https:\/\/tourakuen.myshopify.com\/en\/products\/p4529","provider":"川口陶楽苑","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
