{"product_id":"p4533","title":"Bizen Hohin","description":"This Bizen *hōhin* (teapot) is the work of the timeless master Ken Fujiwara, a man who possessed both bold and meticulous sensibilities. The molding, with its moderate thickness that is recognizable as Fujiwara's at a single glance, follows his own path amidst the competition for thinness, lightness, and precision in *hōhin* production—a quality that is nothing short of reliable. Yet, the lid and body fit together with such seamless perfection that not even a millimeter of gap exists, teaching us with overwhelming conviction what the skill of a master truly means. Although completed with such magnificent technique, he never flaunts it, instead allowing the Bizen clay he loved so dearly to remain the star. The overall character of the clay is a strong, reddish tone, and the understated scenery of the withered *goma* (ash glaze) characteristic of Fujiwara's work enhances the clay texture, suiting this *hōhin* perfectly.\n\nBox inscribed by Kikuyo (shiho-san box) \u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter including spout 9.2cm x Diameter 8.0cm x Height 8.7cm\n\nKen Fujiwara (1924–1977) began his pottery career in 1946 under his uncle, Kei Fujiwara, and also studied under Toyo Kaneshige and Sozan Kaneshige. Later, he learned tableware production techniques from Rosanjin Kitaoji in Kamakura, before becoming independent and building his own kiln in 1956. Thereafter, he was selected for numerous exhibitions. In 1970, he designed and constructed a large Bizen kiln using modern firebricks. In 1973, he was designated a Prefectural Important Intangible Cultural Property holder. He was also awarded the Order of the Sacred Treasure, Fifth Class. Although he was expected to become a leader who would carry the future of Bizen pottery, he passed away at the young age of 53.","brand":"藤原 建","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46617960153185,"sku":"4533","price":30000.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0654\/9916\/8865\/files\/4533.jpg?v=1790230554","url":"https:\/\/tourakuen.myshopify.com\/en\/products\/p4533","provider":"川口陶楽苑","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
