{"product_id":"p4798","title":"Hidasuki sake bottle","description":"This is a newly fired *hidaski* (fire-cord) sake bottle, a fresh work from popular young artist Yoshiteru Kouriki, an inner disciple of the master Sozan Kaneshige. Fired at the end of September 2017, this latest piece exemplifies the artist’s signature consistent quality while showcasing a rich variety of techniques. In this work, Kouriki displays the vibrant Momoyama-style *hidaski* he inherited from his mentor, Sozan Kaneshige, achieved through electric kiln firing. Adhering to the teaching that one should nurture their work in the kiln like a newborn baby, Kouriki fires his pieces for an exceptionally long time, even in an electric kiln, matching the duration of a wood-fired climbing kiln. This piece features a profound *mogusa* (mugwort) colored clay base and an indescribably elegant hue of *hidaski*. The straw was placed primarily around the waist and wrapped up toward the neck to create the fire-cord pattern, and the rim, subtly tinted as if with lipstick, exudes a wonderful allure enhanced by the quality of the clay.\n\nSigned paulownia box (shiho-zan style)\u003cbr\u003e\nRim 3.7cm × Body diameter 10.1cm × 10.1cm × Height 11.4cm, Capacity approx. 380cc\n\nYoshiteru Kouriki was born in Ako City, Hyogo Prefecture. Influenced by his pottery-loving father, he aspired to pursue the path of ceramics and, after graduating from high school, studied pottery techniques under the father-and-son masters Sozan and Yuho Kaneshige starting in 1989. After seven years of training, he built his own climbing kiln in Shizutani, Bizen City, in 1996 to strike out on his own, and successfully held his first firing the following year. He held his first solo exhibition in Tokyo in 2000 and has held annual solo exhibitions ever since. In 1999, he was selected for the \"Exhibition of Confectionery Vessels I Want to Use,\" and in 2002, he was selected for the \"Tea Ceremony Modeling Exhibition\" for the first time.","brand":"高力芳照","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46618662305889,"sku":"4798","price":24000.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0654\/9916\/8865\/files\/4798.jpg?v=1790239525","url":"https:\/\/tourakuen.myshopify.com\/en\/products\/p4798","provider":"川口陶楽苑","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
