{"product_id":"p4823","title":"Bizen square plate","description":"This is a new Bizen square plate, fresh from the kiln by popular young artist Yoshiteru Koriki, a former apprentice to the master Sozan Kaneshige. Fired at the end of September 2017, this latest work showcases the consistent high quality characteristic of Koriki-sensei, while serving as an excellent piece with rich variety. The refined, high-status quality of the clay, inherited from Sozan Kaneshige, may appear understated at first glance, but it is of an exceptionally high grade, clearly demonstrating what sets high-quality clay apart from the rest. Reflecting Koriki-sensei’s deep interest not only in pottery but also in the tea ceremony, calligraphy, painting, and cuisine, this wonderful piece successfully balances design and usability while firmly highlighting the appeal of Bizen ware. It was created with the intention of serving about ten pieces of sushi, though it can be used for a wide range of dishes beyond sushi. Even while highlighting the quality of the clay, the artist has employed ingenious techniques to avoid the dish becoming too conspicuous, such as by creating faint, hazy *marunuke* (circular kiln-change) patterns and softening the contrast. It is built with a slight thickness to increase durability, making it robust enough for worry-free daily use.\n\nPaper box\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 29.1cm × 20.6cm × Height 1.5cm\n\nYoshiteru Koriki was born in Ako City, Hyogo Prefecture. After seven years of training, he established his own climbing kiln in Shizutani, Bizen City in 1996 and set out on his own, successfully firing his first kiln the following year. He held his first solo exhibition in Tokyo in 2000 and has held annual solo exhibitions ever since. In 1999, his work was selected for the \"Exhibition of Wagashi Vessels I'd Like to Use,\" and in 2002, he was selected for the \"Tea Ceremony Sculpture Exhibition\" for the first time.","brand":"高力芳照","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46617961496673,"sku":"4823","price":9000.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0654\/9916\/8865\/files\/4823.jpg?v=1790230615","url":"https:\/\/tourakuen.myshopify.com\/en\/products\/p4823","provider":"川口陶楽苑","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
