{"product_id":"p4830","title":"Blue Bizen Sake Cup","description":"This is an Ao-Bizen (blue Bizen) sake cup by Mitsuhiro Uragami, the successor to the Intangible Cultural Property holder Zenji Uragami, who carries on his masterful ceramic techniques. He has brilliantly inherited the unique Ao-Bizen style—characterized by the subdued gray base and black *tasuki* (cord-mark) patterns that Zenji Uragami was known for. The clay body, fired under strong reduction, and the black *tasuki* create an intentional color variation that gives the piece a deep, layered tone, resulting in a finish brimming with the charm of earthen pottery within a monochrome landscape. This ensures that even with its chic appearance, the piece does not feel overly cold, retaining the true \"comfort\" of pottery as it touches the hand and lips. It features the *dojime* (waist-constricted) shape that Zenji Uragami favored, and the thick, hand-carved foot rim typical of the Uragami style is truly powerful.\n\nSigned wooden box (shiho-san) included\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 6.3cm x Diameter 6.2cm x Height 5.5cm\n\nMitsuhiro Uragami began studying under his father-in-law, Zenji Uragami, in 1973, learning the fundamentals from clay preparation to kiln loading and firing. He became an independent artist in 1975. Having studied tea ceremony in the Urasenke tradition, he frequently creates tea utensils. Influenced by Zenji's teachings, he also explores the creation of intricate sculptural works. He received the Sanyo Shimbun Award at the Prefectural Exhibition in 1984 and 1986. He has also been recognized at the Zento Exhibition, the Chanoyu Molding Exhibition, and the Yakishime Ceramics Open Competition. Additionally, he has held joint exhibitions with his father in Hiroshima and Okayama.","brand":"浦上光弘","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46618663125089,"sku":"4830","price":20000.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0654\/9916\/8865\/files\/4830.jpg?v=1790239561","url":"https:\/\/tourakuen.myshopify.com\/en\/products\/p4830","provider":"川口陶楽苑","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
