{"product_id":"p4908","title":"Bizen tea cup","description":"This is a Bizen ware tea cup by Kosuke Kaneshige, an earlier work by the leader of the Kaneshige family, whose father was the great restorer of Bizen ware and Living National Treasure, Toyo Kaneshige. It includes a pottery resume from 1988, suggesting it was created around that time. While it is a piece with a basic firing, it features the lovely clay color characteristic of the Kaneshige family, who place great importance on clay preparation. The rich \"shiso\" (perilla-leaf) color present throughout, fading into a soft brownish-tan, is nothing short of masterful. The light dusting of yellow \"goma\" (sesame seed) ash glaze adds deep character, making this a piece that will only grow more endearing the more it is used.\n\nSigned wooden box (double-slat lid)\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 7.7cm × Diameter 7.5cm × Height 10.4cm\n\nKosuke Kaneshige is the third son of Living National Treasure Toyo Kaneshige.
