{"product_id":"p4939","title":"Ibe Shuten","description":"This is a new Ibe sake cup freshly removed from the kiln by Yuho Kaneshige, an artist who, while belonging to the Kaneshige lineage, constantly questions himself, creating works not as \"Kaneshige Yuho\" but simply as the potter Yuho. This sake cup belongs to a series he has been working on for the past three or four years that leans towards a plain aesthetic, crafted using high-quality clay fired carefully in a climbing kiln inside a saggar. Even when creating *hidasuki* (fire-cord) patterns, he cherishes his own unique style distinct from the techniques of his father, the late Sozan; he works with an intentional lack of artifice, throwing the straw on and accepting the outcome if it fails to leave a mark. Holding it, I felt that much like a chef who prepares the finest meat and grills it to perfection, he has prepared the best clay and provided only the ideal fire, leaving the rest to the clay itself. The soft texture of the clay is a luxury in its own right, and the subtle *hidasuki* ensures one will never tire of this understated, elegant landscape.\n\nSigned wooden box (shiho-san) \u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 6.3cm × 6.3cm × Height 4.4cm\n\nYuho Kaneshige was born the third son of the Intangible Cultural Property holder Sozan Kaneshige. He began learning pottery techniques under his father in 1975. He became independent in 1980 and held his first solo exhibition in Okayama. He creates tableware, focusing primarily on tea ceremony ceramics such as tea bowls, water jars, and flower vases. With tea bowls, which he particularly loves, he places importance on the inner form (mikomi) while pursuing balance on the exterior. He has received the Sanyo Shimbun Award at the Prefectural Exhibition, the Encouragement Award at the Tea Ceremony Forms Exhibition, and the Tanko Biennale Encouragement Award. He received the Japan Ceramic Society Award in 2003. He is also dedicated to solo exhibitions, which are held in various locations.","brand":"金重有邦","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46618666041441,"sku":"4939","price":45000.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0654\/9916\/8865\/files\/4939.jpg?v=1790239663","url":"https:\/\/tourakuen.myshopify.com\/en\/products\/p4939","provider":"川口陶楽苑","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
