{"product_id":"p4983","title":"Hidasuki Sake Cup","description":"This is a new Bizen Hidasuki sake cup by Tomio Ochi, an artist who continues to pour his unfulfilled aspirations into his ceramics, having worked silently and diligently at the kiln under the tutelage of Anjin Abe. The Hidasuki technique, for which Ochi-sensei is well-regarded, permeates the clay surface with a rich, clinging quality that is truly exceptional. The form, meticulously developed over a long period, has been fired at an ultra-high temperature, and you can feel its dense, hard-fired nature the moment you pick it up. The intense Hidasuki markings combined with the highly refined, hard-fired clay body create the \"profound sense of weight\" that is uniquely Ochi-sensei’s own. This particular piece features a slight modification to his usual forms, showcasing a design symbolic of the Abe school, reminiscent of a flower petal just beginning to open.\n\nOriginal wooden box to follow (please allow some time for shipment)\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 8.0cm x Diameter 7.7cm x Height 5.0cm\n\nTomio Ochi graduated from Niihama Technical High School in Ehime Prefecture in 1949.
