{"product_id":"p5038","title":"Sake bottle","description":"This Bizen sake flask is by Masayuki Hoshi, who was captivated by Togaku Mori, became his apprentice, participated in his master's large-kiln project, and walked the path of pottery alongside him. A pottery resume from around 1998 is included, suggesting it was produced around that time. Following his master’s example, he meticulously prepares his clay, and the texture achieved through long-duration kiln firing via oxidation is exceptionally hard and well-fired, reflecting a pursuit of simple modernism. Rather than relying on the inherent power of Bizen clay to produce various hues, he carefully adjusts and utilizes the clay as a medium to express a simple, modern, and truly light-hearted style of pottery. The body, built slowly and carefully using the coil method, is shaped with an exquisite balance—neither too heavy nor too light—making it a magnificent piece you would want to keep on hand as a model of what a sake flask should be.\n\nSigned wooden box (shiho-san style)\u003cbr\u003e\nRim diameter 3.5cm × Body diameter 8.6cm × Body diameter 8.6cm × Height 12.8cm　Capacity: approx. 350cc\n\nAfter graduating from the Department of Philosophy in the Faculty of Humanities at Sophia University, Masayuki Hoshi was drawn to the texture of Bizen ware and entered the world of pottery. He trained at the Bizen Toen kiln starting in 1975. In 1979, he began studying under Togaku Mori and participated in the \"Aioi Large Kiln\" project. He built his own kiln in 1981 and became independent after his first firing the following year. In 1994, he constructed a 21-meter semi-underground anagama kiln. He actively holds solo and group exhibitions across the country, including in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Kyoto.","brand":"星 正幸","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46617972539489,"sku":"5038","price":14000.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0654\/9916\/8865\/files\/5038.jpg?v=1790230705","url":"https:\/\/tourakuen.myshopify.com\/en\/products\/p5038","provider":"川口陶楽苑","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
