{"product_id":"p5061","title":"Bizen kiln-transformation flower vase","description":"This is a slightly earlier Bizen kiln-change (yohen) flower vase by the esteemed Makoto Nakamura, son of the legendary Bizen sake-ware master Rokuro Nakamura, and a renowned artisan of sake and tableware in his own right. The vivid crimson \"nuke\" (spot of color), which appears as if fire is dwelling within the clay, is incredibly striking; with such a magnificent hue, one almost feels the urge to nurture it with sake, just as one would a sake vessel. The back and base feature a rich, evocative ash-covered kiln-change pattern, where a sophisticated black beautifully accentuates the ripe, fruit-like crimson of the clay. It possesses the dignified presence expected of a master potter, and combined with its eye-catching color, it would make a wonderful gift. (Although this is an earlier work, it is free of any stains or signs of use.)\n\nOriginal signed box (shiho-zan) with lid\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter (including handles) 16.9cm x Diameter 12.5cm x Height 24.3cm\n\nBorn as the eldest son of Rokuro Nakamura, Makoto Nakamura began learning the fundamentals under his father in 1971.
