{"product_id":"p5099","title":"Bizen teapot","description":"This Bizen teapot (hobin) by Ken Fujiwara is a timeless masterpiece that combines boldness with meticulous precision. Centered around the rich, moist *sangiri* (kiln-altered coloring) that makes his work instantly recognizable, this teapot also features a sophisticated *kigoma* (yellow sesame glaze) and the soft, variegated hues of a *botamochi* (a scorched marking caused by stacking pieces) that spans both the lid and the body. While the craftsmanship is reminiscent of masters such as Toyo Kaneshige and Kei Fujiwara, the piece is imbued with Ken Fujiwara’s own unique aesthetic throughout. The *kodai* (foot ring)—which is carved slightly higher and leaves a more powerful impression compared to the body—can truly be called his signature style. The clay's simple, subdued color, typical of Fujiwara’s work, will grow increasingly refined and deep with use as it absorbs tea.\n\nBox identified by Chieko (Shiho-san box) \u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter including spout 10.0cm × Body diameter 8.7cm × Height 8.7cm\n\nKen Fujiwara (1924–1977) began his career in ceramics in 1946 under his uncle, Kei Fujiwara, and also studied under Toyo Kaneshige and Sozan Kaneshige. He later moved to Kamakura to study tableware production techniques under Rosanjin Kitaoji, before becoming independent and building his own kiln in 1956. Thereafter, he was selected for numerous exhibitions. In 1970, he devised and built a large Bizen kiln using modern firebricks. In 1973, he was designated a holder of an important intangible cultural property by Okayama Prefecture and was later awarded the Order of the Sacred Treasure, Gold and Silver Rays. Although he was expected to be a leader for the next generation of Bizen potters, he passed away at the young age of 53.","brand":"藤原 建","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46617976012897,"sku":"5099","price":48000.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0654\/9916\/8865\/files\/5099.jpg?v=1790230737","url":"https:\/\/tourakuen.myshopify.com\/en\/products\/p5099","provider":"川口陶楽苑","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
