{"product_id":"p5112","title":"Bizen Yohen Sake Cup","description":"This is a brand new Bizen sake cup, fresh from the kiln by the popular young artist Yoshiteru Kouriki, a former live-in apprentice to the master Sozan Kaneshige. This latest work, fired in early summer 2018, is a masterpiece born from Kouriki’s signature aggressive firing style, with its greatest appeal being the intense kiln transformation (yohen) achieved by firing the \"ta-tsuchi\" (field clay) to its absolute limit. The ash-covered kiln transformation encircles the entire piece, revealing stunning black-silver effects from every angle—a finish that ash-glaze enthusiasts will find irresistible. Furthermore, at the foot, the natural glaze has crystallized like \"biidoro\" (glass), forming green granular patterns that create a sea-cucumber-like texture. In the interior, there is a small circular patch that is a trademark of Kouriki’s work; interestingly, this is the only spot where a faint scarlet hue typical of the field clay emerges, almost like a subtle defiance by the clay against the artist’s intense firing process.\n\nSigned wooden box (shiho-zan) included\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 7.0cm × Diameter 6.8cm × Height 5.6cm\n\nYoshiteru Kouriki was born in Ako City, Hyogo Prefecture. Influenced by his father, who loved pottery, he pursued a career in ceramics and, after graduating from high school, apprenticed under the master Sozan Kaneshige and his son Ariyuni beginning in 1989 to learn the craft. After seven years of training, he built his own climbing kiln in Shizutani, Bizen City, in 1996 to establish his independence, and successfully fired his first kiln the following year. He held his first solo exhibition in Tokyo in 2000 and has held annual solo exhibitions ever since. In 1999, he was selected for the \"Exhibition of Northern Confectionery Vessels I'd Like to Use,\" and in 2002, he was selected for the \"Tea Ceremony Forms Exhibition\" for the first time.","brand":"高力芳照","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46618670235745,"sku":"5112","price":15000.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0654\/9916\/8865\/files\/5112.jpg?v=1790239845","url":"https:\/\/tourakuen.myshopify.com\/en\/products\/p5112","provider":"川口陶楽苑","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
